Sunday, August 18, 2019 10:12 AM

Dear members,

We had many submissions for our proposed Russian exchange concert through our contact, Anton Rovner. We have now heard from him regarding the works that will be played on their September 27 concert. They include pieces by Peter Kelsh, Christopher Sahar, David Picton, Eric Heilner, Dana Dimitri Richardson, Timothy Lee Miller, and Hubert Howe. The performing ensemble will be The 20th Century Ensemble, which includes Maria Khodina, violin, Vyacheslav Grebennikov, viola, Nadezhda Grebennikova, celloElizaveta Danilina, piano, Sayaka Takahashi, piano, and Olesya Rostovskaya, organ.

The concert is part of the "Musical Bridges” series. The location of the concert will be the Nikolai Myaskovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow Conservatory (2nd tutorial building to the right of the statue of Tchaikovsky), address: Moscow 103009, ulitsa Bolshaya Nikitskaya 13/6. Located in between metro (subway) stations "Pushkinskaya," "Arbatskaya" and "Okhotny Ryad" (in case there is anybody here familiar with Moscow).

This is a great honor for our members. In exchange for this concert, we will be including several Russian composers' works on our programs this year. He is sending us additional works by composers from other areas in Russia who are similarly established to help produce concerts. Rovner also said that he will try to arrange performances of the other the works that were submitted but not seleceted for this particular concert, as well as the possibility of repeat performances of these works, in other places in Russia during the forthcoming concert series.
