Chris Sahar

Mr. Sahar is a composer, pianist and organist active in the New York metropolitan area. He holds a B.A. in Literature from Oberlin College and a M.A. in Music from Queens College/CUNY. He has works published by Editions Ferrum Musica based in London and has had premieres of his works in the United States and Greece. Mr. Sahar enjoys forging a mix of compositional styles into his works that are usually guided by an extra-musical drama.

Mr. Sahar serves as music director of Rutherford Congregational Church in Rutherford, N.J, board member of the Brooklyn Chapter of American Guild of Organists and board member on American Festival of Microtonal Music, and active as a teacher o composition and piano.

Outside of music, he has been an administrative assistant at Fortune 500 companies, recreational music leader , and proud of serving as Peace Corps Volunteer in Belize and assisting with Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts in New York City in 2012.
